Dallas, Texas – (July 19th, 2009) – Good news for VanillaSoft users, the lead management software maker announced today that it started supporting Firefox and Safari users. Renowned for making sales calls more productive, VanillaSoft used to be exclusive to the Internet Explorer, but no longer. “Our autodialing feature even works on the iPhone”, says Leonard Sussenbach, VP of Product Development. The iPhone uses Apple’s own Safari browser. “Customers don’t care about the browser. They just want to see the sales call stats of their inside sales team, wherever they are: at home or outside the US. Firefox has a growing presence in both segments.”, says Sussenbach.

At the end of last year, Internet Explorer’s market share dropped below 70 percent for the first time in eight years, according to Net Applications. At the same time, Firefox hit its all-time highest share with 21 percent. Apple (NASDAQ:AAPL) has also seen rapid growth in the browser market, Safari grew from less than 5 to just under 8 percent in 16 months, undoubtedly helped by millions of iPhone users.

Due to the rising popularity of the Firefox and Safari browser, VanillaSoft decided to expand beyond Internet Explorer as its main platform. “We still autodial more telephone systems through Internet Explorer then anyone, but the rise of soft phones such as Skype (www.skype.com) and X-Lite (www.counterpath.com) make it possible to offer autodialing inside other browsers.”, said Sussenbach. Firefox and Safari don’t support Microsoft ActiveX which is the secret behind VanillaSoft’s vaunted ability to autodial any major PBX, but soft phones mitigate this fact, and they generally autodial a little bit faster. VanillaSoft also supports call recording on both soft phones.

“Our goal for our customers is to make more effective calls, with less distraction.”, says Ken Murray, co-founder of VanillaSoft. Murray points to the very simple layout of the sales agent’s screen, while at the same time offering administrators detailed lead routing features to cater to the customer’s specific business rules. “Ordinary CRM is no fit with inside sales, it’s too complicated to run an inside sales team productively. Most of our users are making sales calls within the first few minutes after they log on.”, Murray says.

Interested users can try VanillaSoft out for free without cost or obligation.
